STARFISH
(Sex Trafficking Awareness For Individual Strength and Hope) School Prevention Project
STARFISH is an educational tool developed by academics, researchers, social workers, and teachers, designed to raise awareness and provide education about the social injustice of sex trafficking in the United States. This is a free resource for school administrators and educators to utilize that provides a safe and age-appropriate way to educate middle school and high school students on the issue of sex trafficking. This resource also provides ideas for mobilizing students to action in educating their peers about risk factors and warning signs, and taking a stand against sex trafficking. All of the content on this website is free of charge and is available for printing and implementing in the classroom.
STIR
The Office of Sex Trafficking Intervention Research (STIR) is in the School of Social Work, within the College of Public Service and Community Solutions at Arizona State University.The STIR office opened in the Spring of 2013, and is staffed by academics, researchers and law enforcement community research partners.
The goal of the STIR office is to be a central source of research on domestic sex trafficking which will inform the decisions made by those who contact victims and perpetrators of sex trafficking including law enforcement and prosecutors, educators, medical services and social services.
Research disseminated from the Office of Sex Trafficking Intervention Research has and will continue to significantly contribute to the knowledge base about sex trafficking by introducing innovative research methodologies and unique partnerships in the development of new knowledge.
